Courtney Money aka “Minji”

Where are you from and where are you based now?

I’m from a small town Provo, Utah.  I am based in Los Angeles now.

Most memorable modeling experience?

It’s hard to pinpoint a favorite memory.  I can say every shoot I do makes an impact/leaves a memory with me and I also feel like a piece of me is given at every shoot.  I love sharing/collaborating with people who have amazing energy.  Getting to work with some of my favorite photographers, brands, and meeting unforgettable people every day that all love what they do makes me feel like the luckiest girl on the planet.

Interests/hobbies?

I’ve always been a film nerd.  I always thought I was going to go to film school and make documentaries.  Who knows, it could still happen!

Fun or interesting fact about you?

I took Arabic for 4 years.  I used to be Mormon.  I’m half Korean/Native American and Scottish.

Coffee or tea?

Both!  Depending if I need energy or if I’m trying to relax.

If you had to be reincarnated as an animal, which would it be?

Black Jaguar or Dragon.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A fashion designer or a vet.

If you could visit anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would it be?

Tokyo!  It’s my favorite place in the world that I have been to so far.

Describe your dream hair.

I really loved my platinum hair when it was long.  It was super white and beautiful.  Too bad my dark natural Asian hair was fighting against me!

What is your favorite everyday go-to hairstyle?

While my hair is still damp I put oil in it and let it air dry.  I’ll spray some texturizing spray, tousle it with my hands and BOOM!  It’s my everyday effortless hair look!

Biggest hair challenge?

Trying not to change my hairstyle every week.  Before I started modeling I had tried every style.  I shaved half my head in high school, dyed it platinum, changed my hair color every week, had a mullet, bangs, etc.  I just wanted to see myself with every type of hair.  I love being able to be a different version of myself each time I change my hair!

What is the craziest thing you have ever done to your hair?

I woke up one day (a few years ago) and decided to get box braids.  I found a salon in Inglewood and 9 hours later I looked like a completely different person.  The pain was excruciating.  It only lasted a week due to my scalp bleeding and the weight was too heavy for my head.  But it was really cool while it lasted!

Do you have any favorite hair tools, products or treatments?

I really love Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray.  It smells AMAZING!!
